With your agreement we use WebRec to track which pages you visit and what you click, so we can find what is confusing or broken. Tracking hides everything you type and all the text on the page, and is off on messages, account and sign-in pages. There are no advertising cookies.
Nothing is tracked unless you allow it. You can change your mind at any time from Cookie choices at the foot of every page. How use tracking works
Plain terms for a community record: be accurate, be kind, only claim what is yours, and read the figures as arithmetic rather than advice.
1. About MyWolfdog
MyWolfdog is a pedigree and health record for wolfdogs, and a community for the people who live with them. It is run by MyWolfdog (mywolfdog.com). The records, guidance and community need a free account; the front page, these pages and the form for correcting or removing a record do not. These terms apply to everyone who uses it, and to members in particular. The privacy notice explains what we keep about you and why.
2. Eligibility and minimum age
You must be 16 or over to create an account, and you confirm that when you join. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we will close it. Accounts made before this requirement existed are not being removed, but every new account confirms it.
3. Your account
You sign in with a passkey held on your device or in your passkey manager, and you are given recovery codes once, when you join. Keep them somewhere safe: we have no email address or password for you, so without a passkey or a code we cannot get you back into your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
You choose who sees each part of your profile, your dogs and your photos. Your handle may still be visible to other members where friend requests and messages need it.
4. Your dog and the record
If you say you own or co-own a dog, you are the point of truth for its record: your changes go straight onto it, and the value each change replaced is kept and shown. Only say a dog is yours if it is. Anybody else, including a dog’s breeder, proposes a correction, and the people close to the dog settle it.
What you add to the record must be accurate to the best of your knowledge. By adding it, you let us publish it as part of the record, credited to you by the name you gave, for as long as the record exists. You can ask for your name or what you added to be removed at any time.
5. Your photos and posts
You keep the rights to the photos and words you share. You give us permission to store them and show them to the people you chose, for as long as they stay on the site. Only share what you have the right to share, and do not post photos of other people without their agreement.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
claim a dog is yours when it is not, or add records you know to be false;
harass, threaten, stalk or impersonate anyone, or share someone else’s personal details;
post content that is unlawful, abusive or hateful, or shows or encourages cruelty to animals;
sell, advertise, promote, recommend or use aversive tools: prong or pinch collars, electric shock collars, choke chains, garrottes, or anything else that works on a dog through pain or fear;
send spam or bulk advertising;
copy the database in bulk, scrape the site, or try to get into accounts, data or parts of the site that are not yours.
The community rules say the same in plain words for everywhere people write. Anything on the site can be reported, and anyone can be blocked. Moderators may remove content and suspend or delete accounts that break these terms or put other people or animals at risk. A member shown to be selling, promoting or using aversive tools is removed and banned, and any later account they open is removed too. A report about aversive tools is handled the same way as one about hate speech. Every moderation action is logged.
7. Pedigree, health and advice
The coefficients of inbreeding, wolf content, genotype odds, mating plans and other figures on the site are arithmetic on the recorded pedigree, and each says how much of the pedigree it rests on. They are information, not advice, and not a recommendation to breed or not to breed. The records come from archives and from people, and can be wrong. Guidance on the site names its sources, and none of it replaces a vet, a qualified behaviourist or legal advice where your situation needs one.
8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The site is provided as it is and as it is available. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promise that it will be uninterrupted or free of errors, or that any record or figure on it is accurate or complete.
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the site. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under the laws of England and Wales, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud, and nothing here affects your statutory rights.
9. Changes to the site or these terms
We may change the site and these terms. When the terms change, the date at the top changes with it, and if the change is material we will tell members on the site. The site is free to use; if that ever changes, we will give reasonable notice first and will not charge for anything retrospectively.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
